Humpback Whale in Open Waters
The humpback whale can be found in oceans and seas all over the world. They migrate over longer distances than any other mammal, travelling about 25,000 km (16,000 miles) in an average year. Besides their long-distance migration, humpback whales are also known for their remarkable, complex underwater songs that can last for hours. While the humpback whale population is recovering, the numbers of other members of the marine ecosystem are sadly dwindling due to the impacts of climate change and overfishing. With this painting, I support efforts that keep the ocean ecosystem healthy and motivate consumers to be mindful of their purchasing decisions.
